Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team continued their conference win streak against Mount Olive on Saturday night. A thrilling comeback put the Lions on top, 75-74. With this win, the Lions improve their record to 6-5 overall, 3-0 in conference.
The Trojans started out on top, outscoring the Lions 33-27 in the first half. When action resumed after halftime, Mount Olive found their rhythm and continued to hit shots, pulling them ahead to their largest lead of the night at 45-30.
EC would slowly chip away at the Trojan lead as the clock dwindled down. Mount Olive responded with a layup to increase their lead to four with less than a minute remaining. Emerson McClung followed with a huge three point play, driving in a layup and hitting his extra point. Now trailing 73-74 with 10 second left on the clock, a Trojan foul would put Tyonn Stuckey on the line. The Junior Point Guard connected with both of his free throw shots, clinching the 75-74 victory for EC.
Tyonn Stuckey led the Lions with 18 points. Brandon Simpson followed closely behind with 17.
The Lions continue action on Wednesday, December 18th with a conference match against King University.
