Box Score BRISTOL, Tn. - The Emmanuel College women's basketball team defeated King University, 72-66, on Wednesday night. This win brings the Lions record to 15-6 overall, 10-4 conference.
After trailing the entire night, the Lady Lions finally began to make a run late in the third quarter. A three-pointer from Sophomore Hanna Grogan put the Lions within two points before Senior Lochlain Corliss sunk the last shot of the quarter to tie up the game, 49-49.
The lead would switch five more times in the first five minutes of the final quarter. Sophomore Breanna Locke would steal the lead one last time with a three-pointer before the Lions began to build a buffer. Emmanuel closed out the game, 72-66.
The Lady Lions shot 48.1% from the floor led behind Grogan's 22 points. Corliss and Locke also hit double-digits with 16 and 10 points respectively.
Next up, the Lions will return home for a conference match against Mount Olive on Saturday, February 9th at 2:00pm.
