Lions Advance To Conference Carolinas Championship Round With Win Over Mount Olive

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The No. 1 Emmanuel College men's basketball team defeated the No. 4 University of Mount Olive, 70-64 in the Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Semifinals on Saturday afternoon. With this win, the Lions advance to the Conference Carolinas Championship tomorrow (Sunday, March 10th) at 2:00pm. The No. 1 Lions will take on No. 2 Belmont Abbey. The Crusaders earned their spot in the finals with a 77-76 win over Barton College in their semifinal match.

Seniors Austin Greene and Kendrick Colvin both led the Lions with 16 points with Colvin posting a double-double. Freshman Kyler Ingram was also on top of the pack with 15 points and 7 rebounds. 

On the road to their championship appearance, the Lions racked up some impressive accolades. Senior Kendrick Colvin earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team, while Senior Austin Greene and Sophomore Brandon Simpson made it on the All-Conference Second Team as announced at the award banquet this afternoon. Head Coach TJ Rosene earned Conference Coach of the Year thanks to his impressive season.
