Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga - The men's volleyball team took on the Erskine Flying Fleet on Tuesday night. The Lions defeated the Flying Fleet, 3-0, moving their record to 3-8 overall and 3-5 in conference.
In the first set, the Lions took control from the start and never looked back. Emmanuel held the lead throughout the set, never allowing the Flying Fleet to get back in it, eventually winning the set by seven, 25-18.
Erskine improved in the second set, but there were still zero ties and lead changes as the Lions controlled the lead throughout. The Lions took the second set, 25-21.
The final set was the most contested of the three, with nine ties and three lead changes. However, the Lions managed to gather momentum in the latter half of the set as they pulled away to win by five, 25-20.
Emmanuel totaled 39 kills, 6 service aces, and 2 blocks, while Erskine totaled 24 kills, 3 service aces, and 7 blocks.
The Lions were led by senior
Don Thompson, who recorded 11 kills, 7 digs, two aces, and an assist. When asked about the victory, Thompson said, "First of all I wanna thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. The boys did a good job, we came together and were thankful to finish it in 3 (sets)"
Next up, men's volleyball will take on Reinhardt University on Thursday, February 20th.
