Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga - The men's volleyball team took on the Reinhardt University Eagles on Thursday night. The Lions defeated the Eagles, 3-1, moving their record to 4-8 overall.
The Lions dominated the first set, hitting .643 and never allowing the Eagles to tie or take the lead. Senior
Don Thompson had a perfect set, with 4 kills on 4 attempts. Senior
Aleksa Lakic was also near perfection, recording 7 kills on 8 attempts. The Lions ended up taking the set by 11 points, 25-14.
The second set was also controlled by the Lions. Senior
Alex Zayas recorded 4 kills on 8 attempts. The Eagles failed to keep up as the Lions won the set, 25-19.
The Lions got off to a rocky start in the third set, losing the first 5 points as the Eagles took the lead for the first time all night. The Lions edged their way back into the set but struggled to gain significant momentum. Another late run by the Eagles caused the Lions to lose the set by 8 points, 25-17.
The Lions regained control in the fourth set, as Lakic came back in the game and recorded 5 more kills. The Lions regained their first-set-form en route to an 8 point victory, 25-17, closing out the game, 3-1.
Lakic led the way for the Lions with 13 kills, hitting .867, his highest hitting percentage of the season. Zayas followed with 7 kills.
