Men's Volleyball Falls to King

BRISTOL, Tn. - The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team fell to conference opponent King University, 3-1 on Friday night. This loss brings the Lions record to 1-7 overall, 1-4 in conference.

EC ended the night with a .200 hitting percentage, accumulating 42 kills on 115 attempts. The Lions combined for 19 hitting errors compared to only 13 from the Tornado. Defensively the Lions tallied 38 digs and 6 block assists. King outplayed EC at the net with a dominant 19 total blocks and outhit EC with 57 kills.

Despite losing the statistic battle to King, EC managed to take set number two, 25-23. Trailing 21-23, Aleksa Lakic put down back to back kills to tie the set up. Henrik Westhoff followed with a kill of his own before a King attack error gave the Lions the second set victory.

Don Thompson led the Lions with 17 kills and 2 block assists. Aleksa Lakic followed behind with 15 kills.

Next up, EC takes on conference opponent Lees-McRae tomorrow at 3pm.
