Box Score HARROGATE, TN. - The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team fell to Lincoln Memorial 3-0 on Tuesday night. This loss brings the Lions record to 5-11 overall, 3-6 in conference.
After a kill from
Don Thompson boosted EC to a 6-5 lead in the first set, the Railsplitters responded with four straight points to steal the lead. The Lions would get back within 1 point, but Lincoln Memorial cruised to a 25-20 first set win while posting their highest kill set of the night.
In the second set, EC struggled offensively while hitting -.167. The Railsplitters posted a .533 hitting percentage and held EC to only 10 points.
In set three, kills from
Henrik Westhoff, Alejandro Zayas,
Don Thompson, and
Fabian Marcano combined with LMU errors to help the Lions lead 10-8. LMU fired back and both teams exchanged points until the score was tied at 16-16. A late run from the Railpslitters followed as they put up 7 points to only 1 from the Lions. Three errors in a row helped EC stay alive, but LMU held onto their lead and finished off the match 25-20.
Next up, the Lions will take on Alderson Broaddus at the Lincoln Memorial Tournament tomorrow at 2:00pm.
