YOUNG HARRIS, GA - The men's basketball team faced Young Harris on Wednesday night. The Mountain Lions busted Emmanuel's five game win streak, defeating the Lions 103-84. The out of conference loss moves Emmanuel's record to 6-2.
Young Harris scored the first eight points of the game, taking control of the early minutes. The Lions clawed their way back in it, earning their first lead of the night around the 12 minute mark, 13-12. Emmanuel proceeded to build a four point lead, 29-25. However, Young Harris fired off a hot streak in the final minutes of the first half, going on a 14-2 run that gave them a 39-31 lead after 20 minutes.
The Mountain Lions came out firing in the second half, taking control of the game and never letting the Lions back in it. Emmanuel posted solid shooting numbers in the second half, going 64% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. But it was sloppy defense and excessive fouling that were costly for the Lions as Young Harris went 31-36 from the charity stripe. This led to the Mountain Lions winning big, 103-84.
Tyonn Stuckey led the way for the Lions, recording 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. KJ Jones II followed with 13 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds.
Next up, men's basketball will head to the Queen City to face the Belmont Abbey Crusaders, with tip off set for 7:30pm.
