WALESKA, GA - The men's volleyball team faced the Reinhardt University Eagles on Sunday after their trip to the northeast was canceled due to snow. The Eagles defeated the Lions in four sets, 3-1, dropping Emmanuel to 2-1 on the young season.

The Lions and Eagles consistently traded blows in the first set, with neither team able to gain a significant advantage. The score was tied nine times until it was 20-20. It was Emmanuel that finally pulled away, ending in a 5-1 run that gave them the opening set, 25-21.

The second set was similar to the first, but this time it was the Eagles who pulled away late, closing with a 5-2 run that won the set by three points, 25-22. Reinhardt carried their momentum into the third set, opening up their largest lead yet with a late charge that put them on top by eight points, 25-17. The Lions trailed 4-9 early in set number four. The Eagles maintained their lead throughout, never allowing Emmanuel back into the set or the match. Eventually it was Reinhardt that came out on top, taking the set, 25-18, and the match, 3-1.

Freshman Gustavo Cavalcanti led the Lions with 8 kills, 4 blocks, and 4 digs. Junior Jayden Young and sophomore Carlos Guerrero followed with 7 kills each.
