Florence, SC --- Emmanuel College Women's Soccer traveled to Francis Marion University for a Conference Carolinas matchup between the Patriots this afternoon.

The Lions came into this game 4-4 in conference play looking to secure a win and advance their winning streak to two. The first half of play was quiet as both teams would take little shots. Emmanuel put up 3 shots in the first half, all of which would sail high and wide of the goal. The Patriots would put up 2 shots, one of which would be saved by Lions goalie, Hannah Thompson. The Lions and Patriots would go into halftime tied 0-0.

The Lions came out strong looking to take the lead against the Patriots. It wouldn't take long into the second half for Emmanuel to score. The lions would score at 48:56. Lourdes Tompkins was assisted by Carina Widauer for the only goal of the game. Tompkins has had quite the week for the Lions as this would make her 3rd goal scored in the last two games. The Lions would secure the victory over the Patriots 1-0 after 90 minutes of play. 
 
The Lions will travel to North Greenville University on October 11th for a Conference Carolinas matchup with the Crusaders. The game is set to begin at 5:00pm.
