Box Score Morrow, GA – Emmanuel Men's Basketball traveled to Clayton State University to compete in the Clayton State Tournament. The Lions would face Georgia College in the first game of the weekend. 
 
The Lions comes into this game 1-1 on the season after a close loss against Young Harris College last weekend. Georgia College comes into this game 2-2 on the season after a close loss to Tuskegee. In the first half of play, the game would be neck and neck. Kevlin Jones (4pts), Trell Washington (7pts), Chris Dees ( 9pts), Tavarus Webb (2pts), Kendall Latney (7pts) and Jasper Gibson (6pts) would all find the bucket to make the score Lions 35, Bobcats 36 at the end of the first half. 
 
The Lions looked to come out in the second half and take the lead. The half would prove to be an equal matchup between each team. The leading scorers for Emmanuel would be: Kelvin Jones (15pts), Tavarus Webb (8pts), Trell Washington (4pts) and Kendall Latney who would score 3 points. Kelvin Jones would secure a jumper for 2 in the last two seconds of the second half that would tie the score up 64-64 and send them in to overtime.
 
This overtime would be the first one that the Lions would face in the 2022-2023 season. They looked strong has they would have the lead by two in the first minute and a half of overtime play. With less than a minute left, the Bobcats would tie the game up 71-71. With just one second left, the Bobcats would be fouled and get two free throw attempts. Crawford of the Bobcats, would make both attempts and would secure the victory 73-71.
 
Emmanuel will face off against Clayton State University of Sunday, November 20th. The game is set to begin at 3:00pm.
