Murfreesboro, NC – Emmanuel Men's Basketball traveled to Chowan to face off in a conference matchup against the Hawks on December 3rd. 
 
The Lions comes into this game 3-3 on the season after a loss to UNC Pembroke over the weekend. The first half of play would be a close game as neither team would be able to take a huge lead. . Tavarus Webb would sink a layup in the first 30 seconds of the opening half, putting the Lions up on the board first. The Lions would get a hot hand and hold the lead until 12 minutes left iin the first half. They Hawks would then answer and gain a 11 point lead heading into the half. Tavarus Webb, Chris Dees and KJ Jones would keep the Lions alive in the first half. 
 
KJ Jones would sink a jumper to open the second half and put the Lions on the board first. With under 17 minutes to play, the Hawks would stay hot as they would take their biggest lead of the game, 13 points over the Lions. At this point, the Lions knew this was their time to grind. Latney, Jones, Dees and Boyd would all put points up on the board in attempt to cut into the deficit. KJ Jones would dunk on the Hawks followed by draining a 3 to put the Lions within 3 points with just 30 seconds left to play. The Lions would be forced to foul in hopes of a miss and a rebound to tie the game. The Haws would sink both free throws in the last 20 seconds of the game. This would secure thier vicotry over the Lions 76-71.

Emmanuel will travel to Southern Wesleyan University on Wednesday, December 7th. The game is set to begin at 7:00pm.
