Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Lions Fall to Bearcats

Franklin Springs, GA- The Emmanuel College Men's Lacrosse team lost their game on Wednesday night to the Lander University Bearcats with a final score of 20-5. This moves Emmanuel's record to 0-2 overall.
 
First Period
The Lions began the game with a good start from Tim Manley and Adam Gallop. After a strong fight, the Lions scored thanks to Luke Hildebrandt who was assisted by Tim Manley, giving the Lions an early lead. The Bearcats came back and scored, leaving the score 1-1. Although they were against a tough team, Emmanuel continued to fight. Lion Allan Velasquez scored off an assist from Jared Weiss, leaving the lions up 1-2. As the game continued, the Bearcats scored 2 more times before the end of the first period, leaving the score at 4-2.
 
Second Period
As the second period began, the Bearcats come on strong scoring 5 times before Jared Weiss scored for the lions. By the end of the second period, the score was 12-3, with the Bearcats in the lead. 
 
Third Period
The Lions scored one goal in the third period, but the Bearcats fought on, scoring 3 goals in the 
third period, ending the third period 15-4. 
 
Fourth Period
The Lions continued their fight, and managed to score one goal, but it was no match for the 
Bearcats who ended the game with 5 more goals. The final score was 20-5
 
 
Men's Lacrosse continues their season at home Saturday, February 19th against the Tusculum 
University Pioneers @ 2:00 p.m.
