SPARTANBURG, SC - The Emmanuel Acrobatics and Tumbling team competed in their first ever official meet on Saturday against Converse University. The Lions fell to the Valkyries, 260.325-213.040. 

The Lions faced a tough task in their first matchup, going head-to-head with the No. 7 team in the nation, Converse University. The Valkyries are dominating the emerging sport, bursting onto the scene over the last year. 

Emmanuel came closest to the Valkyries in the opening event, compulsory. The Lions put up 30.35 points, versus 36.9 for Converse. The Valkyries proceeded to claim the next four categories, sealing their season-opening victory over the Lions. 

Next up, acrobatics and tumbling will host their first official home meet on Sunday, February 20th at 2:00pm in the Shaw Athletic Center. Be sure to come take part in supporting our ladies!
