Lions Close Out Series with Win Over Bears

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - Both teams were strong on the hill Monday, but Emmanuel defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 3-1 in the low-scoring affair. Emmanuel pitchers allowed just six hits to Lenoir-Rhyne. The victory moves the Lions to 2-3 overall.
 
In the second inning, Emmanuel got their offense started. Judd Roberts drove in one when he singled.
 
Simon Boggie took the win for Emmanuel. Boggie allowed two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out three. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Kendrick Zimmer, Kyle Heuchert, Tyler Mayfield, and Clifford Brown all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Mayfield recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Emmanuel.
 
Joey Cobb took the loss for Lenoir-Rhyne. The southpaw surrendered two runs on three hits over one and one-third innings, striking out three.
 
Kyle Lacross led Emmanuel with two hits in three at bats. Emmanuel was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Brody Campbell had the most chances in the field with nine.
 
Lenoir-Rhyne collected six hits on the day. Cole Laskowski and Drew Yniesta each managed multiple hits for Lenoir-Rhyne. Laskowski went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Lenoir-Rhyne in hits. Lenoir-Rhyne was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Nick Clarno made the most plays with 12.
