Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel College Men's Tennis Team hosted the visiting Anderson University in one last non-conference event this season.
The Lions wasted no time at in grabbing a quick doubles point securing wins on court #1 with Joan Grosset / Nathan Benoit (6-1) and Thembo Makhanya / Javier Crespo's on Court #2 (6-3).Â
With the 1-0 lead, EC was looking for 3 more points to clinch the event, with the first one coming from the senior Kornel Kimaszewski on court #5, in straight sets, 6-4 6-2. On court #1, the also Senior, Thembo Makhanya had to go the distance to get a third point in a 3 set win by 6-4 4-6 6-2. The clinch today was on court #6 with Joan Grosset rallying throughout the match but finally overcoming his foe in 3 sets, 6-3 4-6 6-2.
This was the last non-conference event for the Lions this season, but they will be back on the home courts one last time this week where they will host the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors in a conference opener.
