Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel College Women's Tennis Team hosted the visiting Southern Wesleyan Crusaders in the first match in league play. 
 
From start to finish the Lady Lions were determined to be on offense most of the time and plan worked with all doubles getting positive results. First, on court #3 Zyanya Rogel / Lauren Castillon did not drop a game today and with a quick 6-0 win. Not too long after the Freshmen duo, Soleny Gonzalez / Shatavisa Ghosh made quick work of their opponents by 6-1. Lastly, Alejandra Guerrero / Darja Chistov found their best level after the initial 3 games to clinch the doubles play by 6-2.
 
In singles, Emmanuel kept the momentum going and quickly earned a second point with the Junior Zyanya Rogel getting a perfect 6-0 6-0. Next, Shatavisa Ghosh, who only dropped one game, 6-0 6-1. The clinch came by the hands of Soleny Gonzalez, who only dropped three games in route of a 6-1 6-2 win. The fourth point, the Freshman Darja Chistov, pressure her opponent with constant approaches at the net for 6-2 6-2 victory. With the match already decided in favor of the home team, Selina Donecker, increased the lead with an 8-2 win. Lastly, Alejandra Guerrero finished the sweep for EC with a 6-1 7-5 victory. 
 
Coming up next, Emmanuel Lions will travel to Mount Olive for another conference match.
