Selina Donecker is an international student-athlete from Neuwied, Germany.
“My dad took me to the tennis courts when I was three,” explains Selina Donecker, member of the Women’s Tennis Team, “after that, I never stopped playing tennis,” she adds. 
Selina started competing at the age of eight, and although she moved from one club to another, stepping into the tennis courts became her favorite escape.
“Tennis has always been my place to go,” says Selina, “a place where I felt comfortable, and I could do what I love the most.”  
Currently, Selina is a Sophomore on the tennis courts but a Junior in the classroom. She is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. 
“As a student-athlete, I am grateful for being able to combine my studies with tennis,” explains Selina, “however, there are times when combining both can be a lot.”
After almost two years here at Emmanuel College, Selina enjoys the diversity of the tennis program that allowed her to meet people from everywhere around the world. She likes the fact that each player is very unique on and off the tennis courts.
The young tennis player encourages future international student-athletes to work hard during high school and to be mentally ready to face the many challenges that go hand in hand with this experience. 
Selina’s expected graduation date is May 2022. After her graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s in the United States to further expand her knowledge in Management. Her ultimate goal is to work in a management position in an international company either with a focus on medicine or sports.
