Women's Lacrosse Falls to Bulldogs in Conference Opener

WILSON, NC- The Emmanuel Women's Lacrosse team continued their season in Wilson, NC against the Barton College Bulldogs. While the Lions fought hard, they eventually fell to the Bulldogs with a final score of 13-20. 
 
First period-
The Lions came in hot, having two goals scored back to back by Lions Justine Dorelas and Bailie Garland. The Lions didn't back down, as Bailie Garland scored again for the Lions before eventually the Bulldogs fought back, scoring 5 goals in a row. Ashley Mercker scored for the Lions soon after, but the Bulldogs came back, scoring 2 more goals. Justine Dorelas scored the last goal for the period for the Lions before the Bulldogs scored twice more. 
 
Second Period-
The Bulldogs came into the second period with no aggression lost, scoring two more goals before Mickaela Davis scored a goal for the Lions. The Bulldogs score 2 more times in this period before the Lions come back strong, with Mickaela Davis, Justine Dorelas, and Anna Gill all scoring goals for the Lions. 
 
Third Period-
Bailie Garland was on fire this game, scoring 3 more goals for the Lions coming into the third period. The Bulldogs were not backing down, as they scored 3 more goals as well before the third period ended with a score of 12-16. 
 
Fourth Period-
Coming into the last period of the game, Justine Dorelas managed to score the final goal of the game for the Lions. The Bulldogs kept the heat, scoring 5 more goals before the game came to a close. 
 
Women's Lacrosse continues their season in Banner Elk, NC against the Lees-Mcrae College Bobcats on Tuesday, March 22nd @ 4:00p.m.
