Women's Lax Earns Conference Win Over Bobcats

BANNER ELK, NC - The Emmanuel Women's Lacrosse team continued their season today against the Lee's-McRae Bobcats, coming home with a victorious win of 13-12. This makes their record 4-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.

First Period
The two teams fought hard to start off the game until the Bobcats made a move, scoring the first two goals of the game in this period, putting the score at 0-2 to start off. 

Second Period
The Bobcats scored once more coming into the second period only for the Lions to score four goals back to back from Lions Christine Nguyen, Justine Dorelas, and Bailie Garland. The Bobcats scored again, but Mickaela Davis shot back, scoring her 11th goal for the season. The Bobcats scored three more times for this period, while Justine Dorelas scored once more, putting her at 33 goals so far for the 2022 season. 

Third Period
This period was a battle for the Lions, as the score was back and forth throughout. Bailie Garland scored to start the period off, only for the Bobcats to score right back. Justine Dorelas scored once more before the Bobcats struck back. The Lions were not going to go down without a fight this period though. Bailie Garland was on fire for the Lions, scoring three goals back to back to finish out this period. 

Fourth Period
The Bobcats were not going to back off in the beginning of this period, as they scored back to back on the Lions. Justine Dorelas and Bailie Garland brought the heat, scoring double for the Lions. The Bobcats didn't stand a chance though, scoring one final goal before the game came to a close. Final score: 13-12. 


The Women's Lacrosse team will continue their 2022 season at home on Saturday, March 26th @ 12pm against the Chowan University Hawks.
