ROMEOVILLE, IL - The men's volleyball team headed to Illinois on Friday to face the No. 11 team in the nation, Lewis University. The Flyers defeated the Lions, 3-0, moving Emmanuel's record to 6-7 on the season.
The Lions offense struggled against the Flyers' dominate defense. Lewis held Emmanuel to a negative hitting percentage in both of the first two sets, taking them 25-18 and 25-13. The Lions rebounded in the third set, hitting .240. However, a .380 percentage at the net for the Flyers gave them the final set, 25-22.
Sophomore Eli Zdonek finished with 7 kills, 2 digs, and an ace. Freshman Gustavo Cavalcanti recorded 5 kills, 4 aces, and 3 digs, while junior Jayden Young had 5 kills and hit .300.
Next up, men's volleyball will face #12 Loyola-Chicago on Saturday, March 5 at 7:00pm.
