BANNER ELK, NC - The Emmanuel men's lacrosse team (2-12, 0-6 CC) completed their 2022 regular season on Wednesday as they faced Lees-McRae. The Bobcats defeated the Lions, 19-10. 

First period:

Shamaz Durant scored the first goal of the game just 42 seconds after the opening face off, giving the Lions a 1-0 advantage. Durant would score twice more in the first 15 minutes, along with three other Lions. This gave Emmanuel a 6-3 lead after the first period. 

Second period:

Both teams only scored twice in the hard-fought second period. Jared Weiss and Alan Velasquez were the ones to get it done for the Lions, setting up an 8-5 lead by halftime. 

Third period:

Another goal from Velasquez to start the second half gave the Lions their largest lead of the evening, 9-5. However, the Bobcats soon got hot, scoring six unanswered goals to close the period. This gave Lees-McRae their first lead of the night, 11-9. 

Fourth period:

The Bobcats continued to fire on all cylinders down the stretch. Eight goals got them to 19, while Velasquez scored the lone goal for Emmanuel in the final frame as the Bobcats claimed the come-from-behind victory, 19-10. 

Allen Velasquez and Shamaz Durant finished with three goals each, leading Emmanuel's offensive effort. 

This concludes the 2022 season for men's lacrosse.
