Crawford and Elder lead the Lions to a huge upset over NGU

Franklin Springs, GA -  The Lady Lions hosted North Greenville University for a matchup with the Crusaders. The Lions absolutely dominated the court in tonight's game. 

Results:
- Emmanuel 77, North Greenville 45
- Emmanuel 8-5, 7-2 Conference Carolinas; North Greenville 4-11, 4-5 Conference Carolinas

Summary:

First Quarter

- The Cursaders jumped out to an early lead over the Lions to open up the game with a jumper by Malone
- There would be 5 lead changes in the first 7 minutes of play as neither team would be able to grasp a lead
- With under a minute left in the first quarter, the Lady Lions would go on a 6 point streak 

Second Quarter

- The Crusaders would come off the bench hot in the first few minutes of the second quarter of play scoring the first 4 points
- 4:22 left ot play in the first half, Makenzie Caldwell would draw a foul leading the Lions on a 7 point run giving them a 15 point advantage over the Crusaders
- Makenzie Caldwell, assisted by Addie Penick, would bank a layup to send the Lions into the locker room up by 14 points

Third Quarter

- The Crusaders draw an early foul to put them on the board first in the third quarter 
- With 8:11 left to play in the thrid quarter, the Crusaders showed hope of coming back going on a 7 point run to get them within 12 points of the Lions
- The Crusaders made a jumper with a minute left to play to end the third quarter down by 15. points

Fourth Quarter

Jazmin Allen makes a jumper to open up the final quarter of play for the Lions
- Allen's opening two pointer would give the Lions momentum and they would go on to score the first 11 points of the final quarter to give them their biggest lead of the game up by 26 points
- With 3:29 left to play, Ade'Jah James would draw a foul to once again gives the Lions the momentum as they would go on an 8 point score streak
- Emma Easterwood would draw a late foul with a 1:12 left to play to secure the victory for the Lions 
- The Lions would win by 32 points giving them their largest margin win of the season

Jeanetta Elder scored 14 points,1 steal,  3 assists and 7 rebounds

The Lions will travel to Lees McRae for a Conference Carolinas Matchup with the Bobcats on Wednesday, January 18th. The game is set to begin at 5:00pm.
