FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Swimming team started their season yesterday by hosting the Emmanuel Fall Invite. The 2023 Conference Carolinas Champions came out strong, winning both duals meets over Point University (169-20), Mars Hill University (147-58) and Brenau University (154-47).
The Lions shined in multiple events, including the 400 Yard Medley Relay, where the team of sophomore,
Isabell Schiller, freshman,
Zoe Anthony, senior, Susana Ungo, and sophomore,
Marcela Alonso came in first place with a time of 4:03.22.
In the 1000 Free, sophomore, Reilly Allman came out on top, with a time of 11:04.29.
Emmanuel took the top two spots in the 200 free, with junior,
Alexandra Cerbino taking first with a time of 1:59.77 and freshman,
Rica Botz coming in second at 2:04.07.
In the 50 free, Emmanuel sophomore,
Marcela Alonso finished first with a time of 24.98 with freshman
Darielys Ortiz finishing a second behind, 24.99.
The Lions led the way in the 200 IM, with senior, Susana Ungo taking first, 2:09.82 and freshman,
Zoe Anthony coming in second, 2:19.25.
Ungo also finished first overall in the 100 butterfly, with a time of 57.84.
In the 100 backstroke, it was
Isabell Schiller in first for the Lions, with a time of 58:46.
In the 200 free relay, the Emmanuel team of Cerbino, Botz, Ortiz, and freshman,
Desiree Quiles finished first overall with a time of 1:41.56.
Up next for the Lions will be headed to Berry College on October 21 at 11a.m.!
