SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – The Emmanuel Men's Basketball team continued their road trip to take part in the Puerto Rico Clasico in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In game one, the Lions faced off against the University of Ana Mendez. Offensively, the Lions got off to a slow start but got into a rhythm behind a 27-point night by senior, KJ Jones II and won the match-up, 85-71. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-1 on the season. 
 
In the first half, the game was back and forth, with 2 ties and 4 lead changes early. Metropolitana tied things up at 20 on a layup by Algenis Quintana with 9:35 to play in the first, but the Lions would get into a rhythm and begin to pull away. In the first half, the Lions shot 12-21 from the field (57.14%) and 6-11 from beyond the arc (54.5%). At the half the Lions led by 15, 44-29. 
 
The Lion's offense continued to click in the second half. Emmanuel was 14-23 (60.87%) from the field and 5-10 from beyond the arc. Metropolitana would bring the game within 8, with 8:23 to play, but that would be as close as it would get. The Lions would get the W to bring their win streak to four games, 85-71. 
 
Senior, KJ Jones II led the Lions in scoring with 27 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. Junior, Chris Dees was hot from three, with 23 points (6-8 from three), 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Junior, Kendall Latney also ended the game in double figures with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and a block. 
 
The Lions are back in action tomorrow at 2p.m.against Universidad del Sagrado Corazon.
