FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - The Emmanuel men's volleyball team fell to the Erskine College Flying Fleet in three sets, 0-3. This moves Emmanuel's record to 6-13 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Erskine led 4-1 early in the opening set, but three straight points for Emmanuel tied the score at four. The teams traded points the rest of the way, with neither team leading by more than one until the Lions got up by two, 20-18 off a kill from Jayden Young. But three consecutive points for Erskine put the Fleet back on top, 21-20. The see saw of scoring continued until things were locked at 23. Erskine got to 24, but a kill from Carlos Guerrero for the Lions extended the match. However, Erskine quickly scored twice more to win the set, 26-24.

The Fleet carried their momentum into the second set, going up 11-6 early on. The run continued until Erskine led by as much as eight, 18-10. Emmanuel soon put up four straight points to get to 16, and used the momentum to get all the way to 20. But Erskine stayed at arms reach, eventually taking the set by five, 25-20.

Emmanuel controlled the pace early in the third, leading 10-7 after back-to-back kills from Guerrero. But with the score 11-9, the Fleet scored three straight to regain the lead. The teams traded points for awhile, but with the score tied at 17 Erskine mustered a three point rally to get to 20. By then a 5-3 run for the Fleet was enough to take the third set, 25-21.

Jayden Young led the way with 15 kills while adding a pair of digs and a block. Daniel Beachum followed with 8 kills, while Carlos Guerrero, Nicklas Eichenberger, Noah Langelier, and Christian Vega all had 5.
