Franklin Springs, GA - In the first game this Sunday, the Emmanuel College Lions Baseball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-5 loss to North Greenville University on Sunday. North Greenville University scored on a single by J. Faile ll in the first inning, a single by J. Vasquez in the second inning, and a single by P. Monteith in the second inning.
North Greenville University opened up scoring in the first inning. Faile ll singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Emmanuel College Lions put up three runs in the fourth inning. Z. Bergstrom and S. Rutledge all drove in runs in the frame.
North Greenville University scored five runs in the third inning. North Greenville University batters contributing to the big inning included J. Cash, B. Roddey, Monteith, and Faile ll, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
R. Fields led the North Greenville University to victory on the hill. The righty allowed eight hits and five runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out nine and walking zero. D. Taylor threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Sunday's Second game against North Greenville University was a heartbreaker for Emmanuel College Lions, as they lost the lead late in a 5-3 defeat. North Greenville University trailed 3-2 in the top of the sixth inning when D. Lewis singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Emmanuel College Lions got on the board in the first inning. B. Campbell drove in one when Campbell doubled.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Emmanuel College Lions tied things up at two when Campbell doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
North Greenville University took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth inning.
N. Roof was the winning pitcher for North Greenville University. The righthander surrendered zero runs on one hit over three innings, striking out seven and walking zero. C. Freeman, C. Dierdorf, and M. Rodriguez all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Rodriguez recorded the last three outs to earn the save for North Greenville University.
E. Pooler took the loss for Emmanuel College Lions. Pooler allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one.
M. Daniels started the game for North Greenville University. The lefthander allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out two C. Fields started the game for Emmanuel College Lions. The righthander surrendered two runs on five hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two
