FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA - The Emmanuel men's lacrosse team played their senior day game against Lee-McRae on Saturday. The Lions defeated the Bobcats, 8-4. 

43 degrees, pouring rain, and wind resulted in a low scoring game as the teams battled it out in tough conditions. Two minutes into the game, Ryland Laturell put the Lions on the board. Luke Hildebrandt soon joined him, adding a goal of his own three minutes later. Towards the end of the opening quarter the Bobcats got on the board, making the score 2-1 in favor of Emmanuel after 15 minutes. Hildebrandt scored his second goal early in the second quarter before Michael Gallop found the net for the Lions, putting Emmanuel up 4-1. A scoreless ten minutes ensued before both teams scored right before the half, making the score 5-2 at the break in favor of the Lions. 

The first eight minutes of the third were scoreless until the Bobcats found the net twice within a minute to pull the score within one, 4-5. However, the Lions quickly responded when Adam Gallop scored before Hildebrandt found the net for the third time. This gave Emmanuel a 7-4 lead after three quarters. Brooks Butalla was the only played on either team to score in the fourth quarter. The excellent defense by the Lions gave them a four goal victory, 8-4. 

Luke Hildebrandt led the way for the Lions on offense, finishing with three goals. Michael Gallop finished with two. Matt Pesek had 16 saves in the game for the Lions. 

Next up, men's lacrosse will face North Greenville on Thursday, April 20 at 4:00pm.
