DUE WEST, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Basketball team traveled to Due West, SC tonight to face Erskine College in Conference Carolina action. The Lions got off to a quick start offensively and stayed in control, winning this one 82-49 to extend their winning streak to nine games. With the win, the Lions improve to 18-4 on the season and 10-1 in conference play.
In the first half, the Lions jumped out to a 9-2 lead early, expanding that to 30-5 lead with 9 minutes to play. Emmanuel shot 61% from the field and were 50% (9-18) from three. Six different Lions made a three-pointer in the first 20 minutes of play. At the half, the Lions led by 33, 48-15.
Early in the second half, the Lions would extend their lead to 41. They shot 11-29 from the field (38%) and made 6-18 from beyond the arc. Even with a large lead, the Lions defense stayed focused, holding the Flying Fleet to 49 points in the game. The Lions win this one, 82-49.
Senior, KJ Jones led all scorers with 25 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds. He was 8-11 shooting, making 4-6 from beyond the arc. Junior,
Chris Dees had 14 points and 2 assists, while red-shirt sophomore,
Nate Gordon led the team with seven rebounds.
