FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Wrestling team hosted Truett McConnell University last night in regional action. The Lions got off to a strong start and kept their momentum going throughout the match, downing the Bears, 52-0. With the win, the Lions now sit at 2-3 on the season, 1-3 in Conference Carolinas play.
Senior, Eli Horton got things started for the Lions with a major decision victory (10-2) to earn 4 points. Red-shirt freshman,
Christian Gordon followed it up with a fall victory, at 3:54 earning 6 points for Emmanuel.
Freshman,
Davin Lundquist earned a technical fall victory for Emmanuel to earn 5 points, while senior,
Gage Shetley (13-0) and red-shirt senior,
Connor Smith (12-3) won via MD to earn 4 points apiece.
Seniors,
Christian Trimble and
Markis Hill both won via fall to earn 6 points apiece for Emmanuel, while Micha Clemson won via technical fall earning 5 points.
Next up, the Lions will travel to Mount Vernon, Ga. to take on St. Thomas University on Wednesday at 5PM!
