Box Score Greenville, SC - The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team traveled to Greenville, SC tonight to face the Bruins of Bob Jones University. The game was an offensive battle, with each team finding the net, but the home team scored the final goal with a few minutes left in the game to win the game, 4-3. With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-8-1 on the season.
Kinsey Bishop got things started for the Lions with a goal at 17:35 to give Emmanuel a 1-0 lead. The Bruins responded a minute later to tie things at 1-1. The Bruins scored their second goal at 25:28 to take a 2-1 lead heading into halftime. At the half, the Bruins out-shot the Lions 11-3 with 6 shots on goal.
In the second half, the Lions quickly answered the bell with a goal by
Shania Wegesend, assisted by
Poppy Goffin to tie things at 2-2. The Bruins would take the lead at 54:32 to make it 3-2. Late in the game, Wegesend would find the net again at 81:24, assisted by
Kaleigh O'Quinn to even things at 3-3. The Bruins would tack on a fourth goal with a few minutes left on the clock to take the lead, 4-3 which would be the final score.
Overall, the Bruins out-shot the Lions 17-13 with 10 shots on goal.
