Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team hosted the Francis Marion University Patriots in Conference Carolinas action today. The game started out as a defensive battle, with neither team finding the net early. Emmanuel would take the lead midway through the first half, but the Patriots would tie things up late to end game contest in a draw, 1-1. With the draw, the Lions improve to 3-8-2 overall on the season, 3-3-2 in conference play.
 
Emmanuel's Ires Tania got things started for the home team with a goal at the 26:16 mark, assisted by Kaleigh O'Quinn and Sydne Stoker to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the half was a defensive battle, with neither team scoring. The Patriots outshot the Lions 12-2 in the half, with 5 shots on goal. 
 
The second half started out like the first, as a defensive battle. The Patriots tied things up with less than five minutes to play in the contest to make it 1-1. The Patriots had 19 shots in the half, with 7 on goal. Emmanuel goalkeeper, A'Leigh Coleman ended the night with 11 saves, and the Lions and Patriots finished the game tied, 1-1.
