Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team hosted the Southern Wesleyan Warriors today on Senior Day. Seven seniors were honored at today's game –
Poppy Goffin,
Gaby Munoz,
Poppy Clancey,
Elizabeth Barnhart,
Kyla Williams,
Angela Perez, and
Abigail Moss. The Lions took the lead early in the game. Although the Warriors would tie things in the 2
nd half, a late goal by
Kinsey Bishop would give the Lions a 2-1 win on Senior Day. With the win, the Lions improve to 4-9-2 on the season, 4-4-2 in conference play.
The Lions got on the board first, at the 31:33 mark, with a goal by
Jillian Aldrich, assisted by
Brianna Nguyen and
Ires Tania to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Warriors outshot the Lions, 5-4 in the first half, with one shot on goal. At the half, the Lions held onto their 1-0 lead.
After halftime, the Warriors tied things up at 50:26 on a penalty kick to make it 1-1. Nine minutes later,
Kinsey Bishop made it 2-1, Lions. The Lions outshot the Warriors 11-3 in the half with four shots on goal.
