Box Score Franklin Springs, GA - The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team welcomed the Erskine Flying Fleet to Stephens Field this afternoon for a Conference Carolinas matchup. The game was a defensive battle from the start, with the Lions scoring two second half goals to earn a 2-0 win. With the win, the Lions improve to 2-7 on the season, 2-3 in conference play.

The first half was a defensive battle, with the Lions outshooting the Fleet, 14-6 with 6 shots on goal. The two teams ended the first half tied 0-0.

The second half was as competitive as the first, with neither team finding the net until late. Emmanuel's
Eva Stawicki got things started for the Lions with a goal at 74:35 assisted by
Veronica Calixto to make it 1-0, Lions.
Janya Gonzalez followed that up with a goal of her own at 85:24, assisted by Stawicki to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.Â
