Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Wrestling team hosted the 2024 Georgia Open on Sunday, welcoming more than 300 wrestlers to the Shaw Athletic Center.
 
Redshirt freshman, Brayden Mitchell and redshirt sophomore, Gage Shetley shined on the mat for the Lions. 
 
Mitchell, from Covington, GA competed in the 125 lb. weight class and took home a 7^th place finish and scored 10.5 points for the Lions.  He finished the day with two victories by decision and one fall. 
 
Shetley, from Tuttle, OK competed in the 165 lb. weight class and finished 8^th overall. He scored 6.5 points for the Lions, finishing the day with three wins by decision and one by tech fall.
 
Isiah Davis competed in the 141 lb. weight class and earned 9.5 points for the Lions. He ended the day with two victories by tech fall and one by fall.  Gavin Mastrangelo competed in the 133 lb. weight class and earned 7.5 points for the home team, with three victories by fall. 
 
The Lions will be back in action on Wednesday as they host Limestone University at 4:30PM.
