DUE WEST, SC – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team traveled to Due West, SC to take on the Erskine Flying Fleet in Conference Carolinas play. After a scoreless first half, the Lions took control of the game after the break scoring two goals to take home a 2-0 win. With the win, the Lions improve to 5-10-2 on the season, 5-5-2 in conference.
The first half was a defensive battle, with neither team getting on the board. The Lions outshot the Flying Fleet 7-3 in the half. At the break, the score stayed at 0-0.
After the break, the Lions wasted no time getting on the board. Emmanuel's
Shania Wegesend found the net at 53:10 for her third goal of the season to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later,
Jillian Aldrich added to the Lions lead with a goal assisted by
Ires Tania to make it 2-0, Lions. In the second half, the Lions outshot the Fleet 10-2, with 7 shots on goal.
Emmanuel goalkeeper, A'Leah Coleman ended the day with four saves and the Lions had 10 shots on goal.
