Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball team hosted the King University Tornado tonight in Conference Carolinas play. The Lions came out strong and took down the Tornado in three sets, 25-18, 28-26, 25-16. With the win, the Lions improve to 3-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference.
In the first set, the Lions started quickly, getting out to a 10-4 lead early. The Lions maintained a comfortable lead in this set, tallying 14 kills and 4 blocks in the set. The Lions won the set, 25-18.
The second set was a close one, with multiple ties and lead changes. The Lions had 16 kills in the set, with
Aidan Feeney getting a crucial one with the game tied at 26-26. He then caused an attack error to give the Lions the set win, 28-26.
In the third set, the Lions jumped out to an 11-4 lead early. In the set, Emmanuel had 10 kills and 3 aces to keep the momentum going! The Lions extended their lead late, winning the set by nine, 25-16 and taking the match 3-0.
Overall, the Lions had 40 kills, 35 assists, 4 aces, 7 blocks and 32 digs.
Eli Zdonek led the way with 12 kills for the Lions, with
Aidan Feeney contributing 9.
Nicklas Eichenberger had 15 digs for the home team, with
Abdallah Roshdy adding 32 assists.
Arturo Diaz-Dube led the team with 3 blocks, and
Aidan Feeney contributed 2 aces from the service line.
