Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Lions Down Emory & Henry 22-2

 FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Lacrosse team hosted Emory & Henry today in non-conference action. Emmanuel got off to an early lead and controlled the pace of the game, earning a 22-2 win! With the win, the Lions move to 4-0 on the season.
 
Kristie Fisher wasted no time, scoring with 14:24 to play in the first period to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. Paige Murphy joined in on the action at 11:12, assisted by Fisher, to make it 2-0 Emmanuel. Murphy scored her second of the day in the 8th minute, assisted by Meghan Jennings to go up 3-0. Mikaela Austin added a 4thgoal with 5:39 to play in the quarter, 4-0 Lions. Meghan Jennings made it 5-0 Lions on a goal at 5:11, assisted by Lauren Kuschel. Jennings scored a second time at 4:32, making the score 6-0 Lions. Murphy closed out the quarter with a goal at 4:03, to make the score 7-0 heading into the second period.
 
In the second, Fisher added to the Lions lead at 13:17 to make it 8-0. Ashley Mercker scored at 12:24 assisted by Lauren Kuschel to give the Lions a 9-0 lead. Murphy scored her fourth of the day with 11:33 to play in the 2nd, assisted by Kuschel to make it 10-0. Austin would score at 11:33, assisted by Mercker to make it 11-0. Kuschel would get a goal with 3:11 to play in the 2nd, assisted by Murphy to give the Lions a 12-0 lead. With 1:25 to play in the 2nd, Demi Czynski got in on the action, to give the Lions a 13-0 lead. Fisher added onto the lead with 0:23 seconds remaining in the 2nd, 14-0 Lions. 
 
In the third period, the Lions kept up the pace, with Austin netting a goal first with 12:09 to go in the 3rd, 15-0 Lions. Jennings would add to the lead at 11:31, assisted by Austin to give the Lions a 16-0 lead. Murphy would net another with 9:59 to play in the 3rd, assisted by Kuschel to make it 17-0 Lions. Then, Kuschel would grab a goal with 7:54 to play in the 3rd, assisted by Murphy to make it 18-0. Emory & Henry would get on the board with a goal with 4:44 to play in the 3rd to make it 18-1 to end the 3rd
 
In the fourth, Murphy would respond with her sixth goal of the day in the 13th minute to make it 19-1. Austin would score two goals in a row, each assisted by Fisher to give the Lions a 21-1 lead. Kuschel would score the final goal for Emmanuel, with 6:14 to play in the fourth, assisted by Murphy to make it 22-1. Emory & Henry would add one more goal to end the game, 22-2. 
 
Paige Murphy led the way with six goals and three assists on the day, with Mikaela Austin adding five. Lauren Kuschel scored three goals and added five assists. 
 
Next up the Lions will host Truett McConnell on Wednesday at 6:30PM.
