Box Score Young Harris, Ga – The Emmanuel Men's Basketball team traveled to Young Harris to take on the Mountain Lions tonight in Conference Carolinas action. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, although Young Harris would make it interesting in the second half, the Lions would use a late run to take home a 79-71 win! With the win, the Lions improve to 22-5 on the season and 14-2 in conference.
The Lions got off to a fast start in the first half of play, shooting 14-29 from the field. Emmanuel would get up by as much as 12 in the half, but the Mountain Lions would mount a comeback, and trailed by five at the half, 37-32.
In the second half, Young Harris would get within two points early, 40-38, but the Lions would score six unanswered points to expand their lead to 46-38. The Lions were 14-24 from the field in the second half, and 2-5 from beyond the arc. The Mountain Lions kept things interesting by shooting 4-7 (57%) from three, but the Lions were 12-14 from the free throw line in the half, which helped Emmanuel seal the win, 79-71.
Four Lions scored in double figures on the night with
KJ Jones II leading the way with 27 points and 7 assists.
Chris Dees and
Kendall Latney each had 13 points and an assist on the night, and
Tavarus Webb added 10 points, 6 rebounds. Latney and Webb each contributed a block a piece.
Nate Gordon led the Lions with 7 rebounds and a block.
