Franklin Springs, GA – The Emmanuel Women's Tennis team hosted the Lander University Bearcats in regional action today. The Bearcats started off strong, winning to doubles point to take a 1-0 lead into singles play. The Lions would respond well, winning 4 of 6 matches to earn a 4-2 victory. With the win, the Lions move to 3-5 on the season. 
 
DOUBLES PLAY
 

• Emmanuel's #1 doubles team of Darja Chistov and Sabina Roua fell to Lander's Maria Jose Zarza and Millie Elsborg, 6-2. 
   
• Emmanuel's #2 doubles team of Anna Goncalves and Victoria Rodriguez competed well but lost in a close match to Lander's Shae Connelly and Becca Latty, 6-4. 
   
• At #3 doubles, Hannah Panchal/Micaela Pallete (Lander) def. Alejandra Guerrero and Zyanya Rogel in a close match, 6-4.

• At #1 singles, Alejandra Guerrero (EU) def. Maria Jose Zarza (Lander) in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.
   
• At #3 singles, Hannah Panchal (Lander) def. Tawana Senah (EU), 6-2, 6-2. 
   
• At #4 singles, Shatavisa Ghosh (EU) def. Shae Connelly (Lander), 6-3. 6-1. 
   
• At #5 singles, Sabina Roua (EU) def. Micaela Pallete (Lander), 6-2, 7-5.
   
• At #6 singles, Victoria Rodriguez (EU) def. Becca Latty (Lander), 6-2, 6-1. 

 
The #2 singles match remained unfinished.
