Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball team hosted Reinhardt University tonight in non-conference action. The match was competitive from the start with the teams going back and forth but the Eagles came away with a three-set victory, 25-21, 25-22, 25-22. With the loss, the Lions fall to 5-11 on the season.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 7-2 lead in set 1 before the Lions roared back to tie it at 7. Reinhardt would get back in front, 18-13 on an attack error by Emmanuel and would stay ahead the rest of the way, taking the first set 25-21.
The second set was as competitive as the first. The Eagles got off to an early lead, but the Lions keep things close, staying within two points of the lead the whole way. The Eagles would finish off the set with two kills to take it, 25-22.
The third set began like the first two, with the teams trading points. The Lions took their first lead of the set on a kill by
Aidan Feeney to make it 10-9 Lions and would lead by as much as five points, 19-14 but the Eagles had an answer. Reinhardt would go on a 8-2 run to tie things at 21-21 and would take over the lead on a kill. The Eagles would close out the set on two kills to take it, 25-23.
Overall, the Lions had 33 kills, 32 assists, 4 aces, 16 digs, and 8 blocks.
Aidan Feeney led the way with 18 kills on the night.
Noah Langelier had 14 assists, with
Abdallah Roshdy adding 12.
Eli Zdonek contributed 2 aces on the night with Feeney and
Harrison Coelho adding one a piece.
Greg Bodus led the Lions with 2.5 blocks, while
Andrew Michael and Christian Vega had 1.5 a piece. Vega had 5 digs on the night, with
Nicklas Eichenberger adding 4.
Next up, the Lions will travel to Tigerville, SC to take on North Greenville University in conference play on Friday at 7PM.
