In game two of the double header, the Lions faced the University of West Georgia. The Wolves got off to a fast start offensively and took game two, 13-5.
West Georgia would start things off in the first with two runs on one hit to take a 2-0 lead early.
The Wolves added to their lead in the top of the third, with three runs on two hits, leaving one on base. After three, West Georgia led the Lions 5-0.
West Georgia would keep things going in the top of the 5
th, scoring five runs on five hits and an error, leaving one on base to take a 10-0 lead.
The Lions would get some runs back in the bottom of the 5
th.
Abigail Curry started things off with a walk and stole second.
Abby Rocco followed that up with a walk.
Lexi Jordan singled to advance the runners, scoring Curry to make the score 10-1.
Jaryn Gibson grounded out to second to score Rocco, making the score 10-2 West Georgia.
Alyssa Adams singled to right center to score Jordan and bring the score to 10-3, Wolves.
West Georgia would add three runs on two hits and an error in the top of the 6
th to make the score 13-3. In the bottom half of the inning,
Eliana Cooper walked and advanced to second on a ground out and to third on a wild pitch. Curry got on base with a walk.
Ellee Varner reached on a fielder's choice, advancing Curry to second and scoring Cooper bringing the score to 13-4.
Lexi Jordan kept things going for the Lions with a single, advancing runners. Gibson reached on a fielder's choice, scoring Curry to make the score, 13-5.
Alyssa Adams reached on a fielder's choice to advance Gibson to second, but Jordan would be out at third to end the inning and the game. The Wolves won game two, 13-5.
At the plate,
Lexi Jordan went 3-4.
Macy Kelley got the start on the mound for the Lions, going 4.1 innings and facing 25 batters. She gave up 10 runs on 8 hits, striking out three and walking two.
Isabel Harrison relieved her and pitched 1.2 innings, facing 10 batters. She gave up three runs (2 earned) on 3 hits and struck out one.
With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-4 on the season.
