Bristol, TN - The Emmanuel Men's Volleyball team traveled to Bristol, TN today to take on King University in Conference Carolinas play. The match was a close one, with multiple ties and lead changes, but ultimately the Tornado came out on top, taking the game in three sets, 3-0. With the loss, the Lions fall to 8-15 on the season and 3-7 in conference play.

The Lions got out to a 6-3 lead in the first set, but the Tornado would battle back to tie things at 6-6. The set would be back and forth throughout the set, with each team having their moment. After the Lions tied things up at 20-20 on a kill by
Eli Zdonek, the Tornado would go on a 5-2 run to close out the set, winning 25-22.Â

In the second set, the Tornado got out to a 7-3 lead before the Lions roared back. The Lions would get within a point of the lead, but a 3-0 run by King would put some distance between the teams, giving King a 18-13 advantage. The Lions would go on a 3-0 run late to get within a point of tying the set, 24-23, but the Tornado scored the final point to close the door on the set, 25-23.Â

In the third set, the Lions took a 4-0 lead early, but King would respond to make it 4-3. The Lions held onto a lead for most of the set until the Tornado tied things up at 20-20. It was back and forth the rest of the way, but the Tornado went on a 3-0 run to close out the set, 26-24.Â

Overall, the Lions had 43 kills, 3 blocks, 1 ace, 43 assists, and 37 digs.Â

Eli Zdonek led the way with 18 kills and one ace.
Lucas Nieves contributed 2 blocks for the Lions, with
Abdallah Roshdy getting 37 of Emmanuel's 43 assists. Nicklas  Eichenberger had 12 digs on the night.Â
