GASTONIA, NC – The Emmanuel Baseball team took on top seeded, North Greenville University today in the Conference Carolinas tournament. The Trailblazers got off to a quick start, scoring 5 runs in the 1^st inning, but the Lions answered with 7 runs of their own in the 2^nd. The game would go back and forth with multiple ties and lead changes until North Greenville took the game 13-10 in the 10^th inning. With the loss, the Lions finished the season 30-22.
 
North Greenville got on the board first, scoring 5 runs on 3 hits in the top of the 1^st to take a 5-0 lead. 
 
In the bottom of the 2^nd, the Lions roared back to take the lead. Brody Campbell started things off with a double to right center. After Nick Dietsch walked, Hayden Beall singled to load the bases. Dobbs Bowden walked to bring in a run, making the score 5-1, Trailblazers. Dietsch would score on a sacrifice fly, making the score 5-2. Jesus Cruz walked to load the bases a second time in the inning, and Thomas Collins took advantage hitting a single to center to score two runs, making the score 5-4. Brock Wollin put the exclamation point on the inning with a 3-run home run to give the Lions a 7-5 lead. 
 
The Trailblazers tied things back up in the top of the 3^rd scoring 2 runs on 3 hits to make it 7-7. 
 
There was nothing going for either team until the top of the 5^th when the Trailblazers scored 2 runs on 2 hits to take a 9-7 lead.  
 
The Trailblazers would add a run to their lead in the top of the 6^th to go up 10-7. The Lions answered back in the bottom half of the inning. Dobbs Bowden got things started with a double to right center. Bailey Stroud singled to advance Bowden to third, and he scored on a sacrifice fly to make it 10-8, Trailblazers. Collins kept things going with a single to center to score Stroud, cutting North Greenville's lead to 10-9. 
 
The score stayed that way until the bottom of the 8^th. Stroud singled to start the inning and Wollin reached on a single up the middle to score him, tying things up at 10-10. 
 
It took extra innings to break the tie, but the Trailblazers would score 3 runs on 3 hits in the top of the 10^th to take the game, 13-10. 
 
At the plate, Collins, Wollin and Stroud each collected two hits. 
 
On the mound, Ethan Pooler got the start for the Lions. He gave up 5 runs on 3 hits in less than an inning pitched. He walked four batters and struck out one. Dosie Drakeford relieved him and threw 2.0 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits and walked two batters. Barrett Barkley went 1.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 1 hit. Chase Lupton faced two batters and gave up a run on a hit. Simon Boggie came in to pitch 1.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 1 hit and striking out 2 batters. Noah Cantleberry was next on the mound, going 2.0 innings. He gave up 2 hits and struck out 3 batters. Hunter Parks relieved him to pitch 1.1 innings, earning the loss on the day. He gave up 3 runs on 2 hits, walking a batter and striking out another. Lucas Meehan closed out the game, facing four batters and giving up one hit.
