BLUFFTON, SC – The Emmanuel Women's Soccer team traveled to Bluffton, SC today to take on the USC-Beaufort Sand Sharks.
The Sand Sharks got on the board early with a goal at the 11:53 mark to take a 1-0 lead. Although USC-Beaufort out-shot the Lions 19-3 in the first half of play, the Lions defense held strong, allowing only one goal. Freshman goalkeeper,
A'Leigh Coleman finished the half with a career high 13 saves.
In the 2
nd half, the Sand Sharks added to their lead with a goal in the 62
nd minute to go up 2-0. USCB made it 3-0 at the 70:12 mark. In the half, the Sand Sharks out-shot the Lady Lions 10-2, and Coleman added to her career day in goal with 5 saves in the half for a total of 18 on the day.
