WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Emmanuel Men's Basketball team traveled to West Palm Beach, FL this week to take part in a tournament hosted at Palm Beach Atlantic University. The Lions faced the host, top ranked, Palm Beach Atlantic this afternoon, falling to the Sailfish, 88-54. With the loss, the Lions fall to 1-5 on the season, 1-1 in conference action.
The Sailfish got off to a quick start, taking an early 9-0 lead on the Lions. PBA controlled the pace of the half, keeping the Lions at bay. The Lions shot 9-31 from the field in the first, connecting on four buckets from beyond the arc. The Lions were led by
Ezra McKee and
Isaac Jones in the first, with 6 points apiece. At the break, the Sailfish led 51-26.
After the half, PBA pushed their lead up to 30 with 10:12 to play, 66-36. The Lions found a spark in Rett Vandemark, who picked up 10 points in the half, mostly in the paint. The Lions shot 11-33 in the second half, connecting on 5-7 from the foul line. The Sailfish finished off the game strong to earn the 88-54 win to remain unbeaten.
The Lions were led by
Ezra McKee who had 13 points and 8 rebounds on the afternoon. Vandemark added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Andrija Vucjacic led the Lions in assists, dishing out 5.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow as they continue tournament play against Lynn University tomorrow at 2PM.
