Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC – The Emmanuel Men's Soccer team traveled to Murfreesboro, NC this weekend to take on the 3 seed, Chowan University Hawks in the Conference Carolinas Championship Quarterfinals. The Hawks scored once in each half, with the Lions cutting the Chowan to one late to make the final score, 2-1 Hawks. With the loss, the Lions finish the season 7-8-3 overall, 6-4-3 in conference play.
The first half started out as a defensive battle, with neither team finding the net. The Hawks opened up the scoring in the 43
rd minute to take a 1-0 lead heading into the break.
The Hawks pushed their lead to 2-0 early in the 2
nd half, but
Dylan Persinger responded with a goal in the 70
thminute, assisted by
Rezhis Koxhaj to make the final score, 2-1 Chowan.
