FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – Following a strong performance at the CSCAA 5K Open Water National Championship, Emmanuel junior, Yagiz Ari was named the Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week. 

The field consisted of 95 swimmers from NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. The race consisted of a 5K (3.1 mile) open water swim. The Lions finished 6th overall in the D2 team standings with 53 points. Two Lions broke the former 5K Open Water EU School record of 1:01:06 set by Stanislas Raczynski at the 2017 Open Water National Championship. 

Ari was the top Emmanuel finisher, finishing 14th overall in D2 with a time of 58:41.7, which is a new school record.
