SARASOTA, Fla. – (Saturday, December 13) The Emmanuel University men's swimming team competed at the 2025 CSCAA Open Water National Championships. The field consisted of 95 swimmers from NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. The race consisted of a 5K (3.1 mile) open water swim. The lions finished 6th overall in the D2 team standings, with 53 points. Two lions broke the former 5K open water EU school record of 1:01:06 set by Stanislas Raczynski at the 2017 open water national championships.
On the men's side,
Yagiz Ari was the top EU finisher, finishing 14th overall in D2 with a time of 58:41.7 (a new EU school record).
Ahmed Abdalla finished 18th with a time of 1:00:15.4 (also under the former EU school record). Freshmen,
Hayden Lester finished 21st with a time of 1:05:16.6. GO LIONS!
