GREENWOOD, SC – The Emmanuel Men's Wrestling team traveled to Greenwood, SC this weekend to compete in the Carolina Clash hosted by Lander University. The Lions faced two conference opponents, Emory & Henry and Coker, along with nationally ranked, Lander in the match up.
LANDER (49), Lions (0)
The Lions opened the day with a match up against the nationally ranked Bearcats. Lander jumped out to an early lead and controlled the mat to earn a 49-0 victory.
LIONS (34), EMORY & HENRY (15)
Next, the Lions had a conference match up against Emory & Henry. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, but the Wasps made things interesting in the middleweight division. A fall victory by
Kobe Pablo shut the door on the match to give the Lions the 34-15 victory.

- At 285 lbs. Kobe Pablo (Emmanuel) def. Daniel Silver (Emory & Henry) by fall (1:09).
LIONS (23) COKER (19)
The Lions closed out the day with a close match up against Coker University. The Lions jumped out to an early lead with decision wins by Braydon Mitchell and Alex McMiller. Coker earned wins at 157 and 165 to keep things close but wins by Michael McCarthy (174) and Josue Mendoza (184) pushed the Lions ahead. The Cobras closed out the match with back-to-back wins at 197 and 285, but the Lions held onto win, 23-19.

- At 174, Michael McCarthy (Emmanuel) def. Duffy Mista (Coker) by fall (6:48).
- At 184, Josue Mendoza (Emmanuel) def. Gabriel Davis (Coker) by tech fall (24-8, 7:00).
With the results, the Lions move to 5-3 on the season, 5-2 in conference action.
Net up, the Lions will travel to Indianapolis, IN to compete in the Midwest Classic on December 13 at 9AM.
